I do most of my own repair work but I was mystifies by the stumbling at acceleration on my 1994 Honda. Mekatron quickly diagnosed the problem as faulty plug wires (although the wires were less than a year old). I was pleased with the quick diagnosis and the service.

Looking for a trustworthy place to have car work done can be as stressful as trying on bathing suits, having the in-laws over for dinner, or going on a blind date.But not for owners of Japanese-made vehicles who know about Mekatron Concord auto repair shop.The business, located at 1771 Concord Ave, has been named one ot the top auto repair shops by Bay Area Consumers’ Checkbook magazine.The shop, owned by Ian Miller, received a 100 percent rating from customers asked about the quality of the work and prices at the shop. More than 26,000 customers ratings were collected in surveys of Bay Area residents.“Thats one of the reasons we are so swamped. It’s been very impressive,” said Miller.Customers were asked to rate businesses on overall performance; whether or not the mechanics did the work properly on the first try; and up-front cost information given.Miller said his mechanics take continuing-education courses to keep up on the latest techniques of Japanese car repair and are taught to take responsability for a car’s problems. Another reason for the success of Mekatorn Concord is the computerized record -keeping methology Miller and the mechanics use. In fact, Miller said he is in the process or writing a car repair computer program for IBM that could be marketed in the future.
