Limited Warranty
Who is Covered
The only person covered is the original purchaser. This warranty is not transferable.
Coverage
- From September 2009 Mekatron warranties all parts and labor for 24,000 miles or 24 months, whichever comes first; except when parts are from Factory dealerships, which will only be 12,000 miles or 12 months, whichever comes first.
- KYB shocks have a lifetime guarantee on parts only.
- Rebuilt engines have a 36,000 mile or 3-year parts and labor warranty.
- Batteries are warranted for four (4) or five (5) years, depending on quality, and are pro-rated so the warranty payable amount diminishes each month until expiration.
Exclusions
The warranty includes parts and labor only for the necessary repair. Extra expenses such as towing, car rental, lodging and any other incidental fees are not covered.
Any warranty repair that has to be performed out of town must first be authorized by Mekatron, before any repairs are made. The authorization process involves evaluating the defective part(s). Any affected parts must be returned to Mekatron before reimbursement can be made.
No warranty for damage caused by abuse, accident or negligent operation.
No warranty for parts or labor or incidental damage if caused by a part supplied by the customer.
No warranty for failure to maintain fluid levels.
No warranty for a component that is damaged by loss of fluid or overheating, including engines, transmissions, power steering and differentials, where the owner continues driving after a prudent person would have stopped. This relates to disregard of excessive noise, high reading on temperature gauge, or steam or smoke from under the hood or out of the exhaust pipe.
No warranty on alternators damaged by a defective battery or jumping a battery.
No warranty for batteries, alternators, starters, ignition components, fuel components, computers or any other electrical devices if damaged from external voltage surges, overcharging, shorts or wiring problems not caused by the covered part.
No warranty on fuel components damaged by bad fuel, dirt, water, rust or other contamination.
No warranty if failure caused by lack of proper maintenance (i.e., if car fails to receive necessary oil and fluid changes, tune ups and services as outlined in the factory maintenance manual).
No warranty if customer fails to return for “first service” required after 500 miles for engines, transmissions and differentials.
Limitations
ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR OTHERWISE ARE LIMITED TO THE CONDITIONS AND TIME PERIODS OF THIS WARRANTY. MEKATRON ASSUMES NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OR INCONVENIENCES OF ANY KIND OTHER THAN PROVIDED FOR IN THIS WARRANTY. (Certain states do not allow limitations on implied warranties or exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, so these limitations may not apply.)
